I love AIM! Hardly any blind peoples I know use it. Well some do. But the ones that don't are missing out. It's sooooo accessible! I love it! All my blind friends who have it say it's awesome! www.aim.com Check it out it's freeeeeeee!

About dragging its friends along, just uncheck the checkboxes. And AIM rocks lol, I love it.

And does anyone know how to make yourself Invisible on there just wondering?
I use it. I know you can block people with the context menu but I don't know how to make oneself invisible. MSN Messenger is also very accessible.

I must admit I only started using AIM a few months ago...not so because it wasn't accessible but
1. Every1 I knew at the time used MSN so no really need for it
2. In general I hate AOL and anything to do with them
Saying all that, I do use it now, find it quite good, 1 of the reasons I started using it because I have some friends who use AIM only and of course I still wanna talk to them so I quite like them. Other thing I like about AIM is the HTML thing where on some website you can click on a link and it automaticly adds the person to your buddy list. So if anyone wanna chat on AIM and add me my name on there is vanja121 or you can also find it in my profile.`
got aim but, can't sign up as it involves entering a password contained within a image.
I absolutely love AIM, and it's true that not many blind people use it. Almost everyone uses MSN which I don't like that much.
Yeah, most blindies use MSN, it's okay but I like AIM a lot more. About the word in the image just ask a sightie to help you, and if you live in like the US, ther's a 1-800 toll-free number, they've been very helpful in the past.

I use aim, and with jaws5 I must say it's quite good. Fortunetly I signed up before that image crap came along.

I have had AIM forever! I used to use AOL (no, my parents idea, not mine!) so I have a bunch of friends from those days. Plus Aim is the only messenger that doesn't ask a lot of authorization so it's easier to do random chat sessions.
BTW the image thing is everywhere! I hate it.

hello, aim rocks. I lso love chatting with other zoners. I think aim is more accessibleespecially since msn messenger 6.2 came out which is N.O.T jaws friendly unless you have winXP or 2000. if any zoner wants to ad me to there aim list my screen name is joeweakland1027 good luck and hope to hear from you

I've been on AIM since it was at version 2.5 from 96 or something, and it was pretty accessible to me, all I did was reasign the buddy list class to a listboc or something (JAWS speak above). It's cool and that but on my laptop it's horrible, I can't even scroll up or chat for too long without it running out of memory oor just randomly crashing on me.

Aim is much more accessible now, especially with the newest version and with jfw 5.10. so yeah i use it. plus it works for file transfers behind my firewall which is just coolness.
i used to not like aim, and stilll like msn better but aim's fine.

I have version 4.7. I don't use it very much at all, I'm sooo out of practice with it. It doesn't let you know when someone adds you, and although jaws reads theincoming text automatically, it keeps reading and rereading old messages. I only have about 10 people on my buddy list, and I'm not add happy, I mean if anyone wants to talk to me, I mean really have a conversation with me, I'll add them, but otherwise, I don't just add folk at random anymore, because it seems to be more of a competition with people, bragging rights like, you only have 90 contacts? wow, I have 140. I hardly ever log on to aim, but the few times I have, and someone immed me, I enjoyed it, because there is usually only one or 2 other people on lineand the person and I would have a nice conversation for about an hour or so, just me and the other person. That's just as well, because if someone else messages you, you can't just alt tab from one message window to another like you can with msn messenger.

Hey all! I have aim version 5, and if anyone would like to add me, it's renegaderocker74, and I do have the setup file for version five witch is much better, it's set up in a treeview like win explorer, meaning your buddy list, and it works much better with jaws!

As far as my oppinion on AIM goes, I like it a lot. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it doesn't allways read the graphics. I like MSN better for this fact, but still use them both the same amount.

hey I have aim and if you go to the word verication box and you can type in Auteo and it will say a group of numbers and letters that you can type in the box. Hope this helps
